When John was in a room, he had no personal objectives or agenda. His purpose was whatever Jesus was pursuing. And when no clear purpose was presented, John’s priority was what Jesus wanted. And when we see in scripture the group simply fellowshipping together, John’s place was as close to Christ as he could be.

We have no reason to glorify ourselves and every reason to glorify God.

Liberty is the believer’s right in Christ, but all too often they willingly trade it in for bondage.

The discipler is the elder brother/sister that the disciple can personally know, follow, and emulate.

In that moment it required that they believe in something and someone that they had not yet had the chance to fully understand. But their faith allowed for that process to come to fruition. And that process is something that we all know and believe in, which is biblical discipleship.

However you look at it, everything did indeed come from something. All material things have a beginning. Evolutionists state that everything came from something, but they do not yet know that something.

Christlike disciplers embody this same heart. They possess an intense Christlike burden for the disciple. They are willing to go the distance and then some, to minister to the disciple that they might be conformed more into the image of Christ.

When you commit to the sacrifice of learning the target language of the people you are trying to reach, you instantly gain a rapport with them. You aren’t some swindler or charlatan who showed up to gather a crowd or to make a buck. You’re in it for the long haul.

Zeal in the life of a disciple recognizes that what God has said must be true, and it creates a passion in the disciples’ life to see it become reality.

It’s Christ who strengthens us and gives us the ability to face any season of life. We aren’t to seek out either being abased or abounding, but to meet each with contentment and trust in the grace of God.

The Great Commission is without exception or expiration date. Retirement is not an excuse to pull back from ministry, but rather should be a huge opportunity to increase our ministry service.

We must understand the humble position God has placed us in as we open the Word of God with the souls of the greatest among us.

When John Calvin lines up with the Bible, I am a Calvinist. When Jacob Arminius lines up with the Bible, I am an Arminian. When they do not, which is usually the case, I am neither.

Everywhere we go, we are painting a picture of the Lord Jesus Christ’s love relationship with his church for everyone to see. If we are serious about reaching unbelievers with the gospel, and the picture we are painting for them with our marriages is a mess, then how will they understand the love relationship that Christ desires to have with them in their lives?

But if you are willing to be a learner, willing to love the worst of the worst, willing to listen to the needs of lost souls, and willing to lead those you minister to, then there will be that one sheep that left the 99 who will find a home forever in heavenly places. Are you willing?

Dear Christian, you cannot afford not to give!

To safeguard against this, it is worth our time and effort to ensure that our approach to making disciples in the local church is biblically, not academically, sound.

Their obedience led them into private worship that would fuel their public ministry. They didn’t have to question what God wanted them to do, where God wanted them to go, and they had no guilt being in a quiet place sitting at the master’s feet. They had accountability, and they loved it and flourished in it.

Superstitious practices enter the lives of believers and our church congregations through a slow rejection of biblical authority. If we rightly divide the preserved and inerrant word of truth, we will not fall prey to the lies of false spirituality.
